Save the Date & Call for Papers—for the first Asia-Pacific Speechwriters Conference
I write to ask you to set aside 11-13 February, 2019 to attend a historic and urgent global gathering: the first Asia-Pacific Speechwriters Conference, in Sydney, Australia.
And I write to invite your ideas.
Convened by the Professional Speechwriters Association and hosted by the University of Sydney, this conference comes at a moment when every nation in the region urgently needs its leaders—government and corporate alike—to find new ways of cooperation through communication. And when every leader in world must learn to speak intelligently, sensitively and persuasively to the dizzyingly diverse audiences and interests in Asia-Pacific.
It's time for speechwriters from around Asia-Pacific and the world to get to work—together. That starts in Sydney.
Meanwhile, I have a request from conference chair Lucinda Holdforth, a leading Australian speechwriter and speechwriting teacher: It's a call for papers. Please send to this email address—firstname.lastname@example.org—no more than 400 words describing the session you envision yourself and/or another speaker delivering. We'll consider every idea we receive before Dec. 31.
We expect to publish the conference program and open registration before 1 March, 2018. We'll see you in Sydney in February 2019.
