Longtime speechwriter is "the most interesting man in the White House"

White House Watch: It’s still unclear how the Trump White House speechwriting office is being organized, but The Atlantic profiled a longtime speechwriter who is being called “the most interesting man in the White House.” It’s Michael Anton, described by The Atlantic as “a thoroughly educated dandy,” who wrote speeches for California Governor Pete Wilson, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and then for the Bush administration. He runs communications for the National Security Council, a job he likes because “this is like sport for me,” he says. “It’s like working in a restaurant. It’s like working the line.” —DM
