It's an honor to join you all this evening. When I last spoke before INSA this past June, I was Director of the National Reconnaissance Office. What a difference a Senate confirmation can make.
This is a leadership dinner, so tonight, I'd like to talk about how the ODNI is working to lead the Intelligence Community, and some of the challenges we're encountering along the way. This evening, I'm going to spell out for you some of those "in progress" items-the things you find on your plate when you lead America's Intelligence Community.
These challenges are both internal and external- questions about how we should look as an organization, about the threats facing our nation, and questions about how we can best counter them. To paraphrase Harry Truman, none of these questions are easily answered. If they were, someone else would have already answered them.
