Promoting Japan's Private-sector Involvement In The Regional Economic Development Inasia And Africa

Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen: It is my great honor to join the prestigious Asian-African Business Summit today, representing Nippon Keidanren.

Nippon Keidanren, which is also known as the Japan Business Federation, is an economic organization, consisting of some 1,300 major corporations and more than 120 industrial associations in Japan.

Our primary function is to address a broad range of issues concerning domestic and international business and industry and make policy recommendations to the Japanese government. We have numerous in-house regional committees, with their terms of reference being to promote Japan's economic ties with various regions of the world, including, of course, Asia and Africa.
